Alice Geirinhas graduated from FBAUL with a degree in Sculpture, a Master degree in Contemporary Artistic Practices from FBAUP, and a PhD in Contemporary Art from the College of Arts, University of Coimbra. She taught illustration at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and at the Ar.Co. art school in Lisbon. Between 2001-2005 she programmed and coordinated the training area at Bedeteca de Lisboa. Currently she is an assistant professor in the Design and Multimedia course at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra and the College of Arts. Her first solo exhibition, Our Need for Comfort Is Impossible to Satisfy, at Galeria Zé dos Bois, was followed (among others) by Alice, at Bedeteca de Lisboa; Ce sex qu'est pas un, at Museu do Neo-realismo, Vila Franca de Xira, and Chora, at Gaivotas 6, Lisboa.
Among the collective exhibitions she has been part of are Re-producers of Sense, SESC Rio - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Portugal: 30 Artists Under 40, The Stenersen Museum - Oslo, Norway; War as a Way of Seeing, MACE, Elvas, Everything that is solid dissolves in the air, Berardo Museum, and The Philosophy of Money, City Museum, Lisbon, both with the collective Sparring Partners.
