Gonçalo Barreiros was born in Lisbon in 1978, where he lives and works >Graduated in Sculpture from Ar.Co art school in Lisbon and Master of Fine Arts from the Slade School of Fine Art in London, he received a scholarship of Masters Degree from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. A selection of his solo exhibitions includes Sleeping Village (with Bruno Cidra), nosey parker, Galeria Vera Cortês (Lisbon, 2014), Vraum, Chiado 8 and woodpecker, Ermida de Belém (Lisbon, 2013) and n.17, Empty Cube in Colégio das Artes – Universidade de Coimbra (2013). His work has also been shown in several group exhibitions, among others,  Involuntary Memory, Luis Adentado (Valencia, 2017); Sala dos Gessos, Museu da Eletricidade (Lisbon, 2016); Sem título é um bom título, Ar Sólido (Lisbon, 2016); Materiais Transitórios, Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes (Lisbon, 2016); Canal Caveira, Cordoaria Nacional (Lisbon, 2015); O Riso, Museu da Eletricidade (Lisbon, 2012); Plus 1 (New York, 2010); Triangle Room (Curatorial Program of the Chelsea College of Art and Design, 2008) and EDP Art Prize – New Artists, Museu de Serralves (Oporto, 2003).In the last few years he has regularly presented his work at Galeria Vera Cortês. One should highlight his solo exhibitions, 3/4 (2006), I want to do things... (2008), nosey parker (2014) and, more recently, Declaração Amigável (2017).
